Art Debut ("the app," "we," "us," or "our") is operated by the Art Debut team. This Privacy Policy explains what information the app collects, how it is used, and the choices you have.

Summary

Art Debut does not require an account to use. You may optionally provide your name, email address, and/or phone number to receive notifications about new shows at galleries you follow and reminders about shows you've saved. If you do not opt in, we do not collect any information that identifies you. Your saved shows and galleries are stored on your device.

Information We Collect

Optional notification information

If you opt in to notifications, we collect and store the following:

• Name (optional, for personalizing messages)

• Email address (if you choose email notifications)

• Phone number (if you choose SMS notifications)

• Your notification preferences, including the galleries you follow and the shows you've chosen to be reminded about

We use this information solely to send the notifications you requested. We do not sell it, share it with advertisers, or use it to build a marketing profile about you. You may unsubscribe at any time from within the app or by following the unsubscribe instructions in any message we send.

Device location (optional, on-device only)

With your permission, and only while you are actively using the app, Art Debut accesses your device's location to calculate walking distance to galleries and to center the Discover map near you. Your location is processed on your device only. It is not stored by us and is not transmitted to our servers or any third party. If you decline the location permission, the app remains fully functional.

Locally stored saved-item identifiers

When you bookmark a show or gallery, the identifier for that item is written to your device's local storage. This data remains on your device unless you have opted in to notifications, in which case the identifiers of items you've chosen to be reminded about are also stored on our servers so we can deliver the reminder.

Information We Do Not Collect

We do not collect any of the following:

• Contacts, photos, files, calendar entries, or microphone input

• Advertising identifiers (such as IDFA or AAID)

• Analytics, crash reports, or usage telemetry

• Browsing history outside the app

• Payment information (the app is free and contains no in-app purchases)

We do not integrate any advertising, analytics, or A/B-testing SDKs.

How We Use Your Information

If you opt in to notifications, we use your contact information only to:

1. Send you notifications about new shows at galleries you follow.

2. Send you reminders about shows you have saved that are about to happen.

3. Respond to you if you contact us directly for support.

We do not use your information for marketing unrelated to the notifications you signed up for, and we do not sell or rent it to anyone.

Third-Party Services

Art Debut relies on a small number of third-party services to deliver content and, where applicable, notifications. Their handling of any information they receive is governed by their own privacy policies.

• Supabase (https://supabase.com) hosts our catalog of galleries and shows and, if you opt in to notifications, stores your notification preferences and contact information.

• Apple Maps and Google Maps render the Discover map view and are subject to Apple's and Google's respective privacy policies. If you have granted location permission, your operating system may share your coarse location with the map provider in order to render the map.

• Image CDN (via expo-image). Gallery and show images are fetched anonymously over HTTPS and cached on your device.

• Email and SMS delivery providers. If you opt in to email or SMS notifications, we use third-party providers to deliver those messages. Your email address or phone number is shared with the provider only to deliver the message you requested.

Your Choices and Rights

You can:

• Unsubscribe at any time from within the app's notification settings, by following the unsubscribe link in any email, or by replying STOP to any SMS.

• Request access to, correction of, or deletion of the contact information we hold about you by emailing privacy@artdebut.app. We will respond within 30 days.

• Withdraw location permission at any time in your device settings.

These rights are available to all users. Residents of the EU/EEA, UK, California, and other jurisdictions with applicable privacy laws (including the GDPR, UK GDPR, and CCPA/CPRA) have additional rights, including the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority and the right not to be subject to discrimination for exercising privacy rights. We do not sell or share personal information as those terms are defined under the CCPA/CPRA.

Data Retention

We retain your notification contact information for as long as you remain opted in. When you unsubscribe or request deletion, we remove your name, email, phone number, and saved-item identifiers from our systems within 30 days, except where retention is required by law.

Security

We use industry-standard safeguards, including HTTPS in transit and access controls on our database, to protect the limited information we hold. No system is perfectly secure, however, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Children's Privacy

The app is rated 4+ / Everyone. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 (or the equivalent minimum age in your jurisdiction). If you believe a child has provided us with contact information, please email privacy@artdebut.app and we will delete it.

International Users

Art Debut is operated from the United States. If you use the app from outside the U.S., any information you provide will be transferred to and processed in the United States, which may have different data-protection laws than your home country.

Changes to This Policy

If we make material changes to this policy, we will update the effective date above and post the revised policy at https://artdebut.framer.website/privacy before the changes take effect. Your continued use of the app after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
